Technology can pivot education, but only when a handful of people behind it bring the best of practice and theory with authenticity in education. At Tradewind, we provide an unusual path for students wishing for a second chance in secondary education, invest in software development, and support other edtech ventures as a micro-VC. Our first project, Odyssey, is an online homeschooling platform unlike any other. It aims to disrupt the transaction-based model of study-abroad admissions consulting by introducing a process-based innovation approach. We soft-launched this platform during the pandemic, riding on regulatory changes in the U.S., to offer college credits as homeschooling content for students in Asia starting at age 14. On the tech side, we’re developing an agentic AI model to help students take more control of their learning through LMS platforms. As a proof of concept, we're building a mobile app that helps visually impaired users order meals via third-party apps, testing real-world integration. We plan to explore a predictive AI model using proprietary data to spot early signs of learning or well-being issues by analyzing both student behaviour and written input, focusing on patterns that traditional systems often miss. On the investment side, Tradewind welcomes early-stage pitches in the edtech space. We understand that an early-stage edtech must navigate through deep uncertainty. Sailing across these risks with founders is core to our identity and how we create value.
