Trails Have Our Respect

THOR is the International Mountain Biking Association Chapter for Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa. Founded in 1996, THOR builds and maintains most natural surface trails and trail systems in Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa through agreements with city, state, and other public and private land managers. Our education programs focus on youth trail users, land managers, and the building of sustainable nature surface trails. Our vision is natural surface trail systems close to and integrated with communities that support active outdoor recreation for all ages, races, incomes, and abilities. We believe trails, connectivity with nature, and safe outdoor spaces create healthy and resilient children and adults, and vibrant neighborhoods, and are foundational in attracting and retaining families, employees, and businesses. Our mission is to create and share the natural surface trail experience in Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa through advocacy, education, and the building of sustainable and accessible trails.
