The Transportation Infrastructure Precast Innovation Center (TRANS-IPIC) is a Tier 1 University Transportation Center (UTC) working to develop solutions for transportation infrastructure challenges by innovating precast concrete-related technologies that are durable, climate-adaptable, safe, and economic.
TRANS-IPIC enables research innovation and industry support to provide guidance and leadership in the field of precast concrete technology in transportation. We aim to achieve this goal by optimizing PC design, construction, and maintenance.
Our research will develop solutions for current infrastructure problems and revolutionize the development and performance of future transportation infrastructure, providing gains in durability, safety, and economy and reducing environmental impact and resources required for repair and replacement.
TRANS-IPIC is a consortium of five universities that will focus on advancing the technologies used in PC construction and maintenance. Our researchers are experts in civil, mechanical, industrial, and aerospace engineering, with specialties in structures, transportation, construction management, geotechnical engineering, and materials. The consortium is composed of the following universities:
