We are privileged to be witnessing an era where the energy sector is seeing unprecedented developments and challenges locally, regionally and globally. Global industrial development is increasing global energy demand. Climate change and global warming are forcing the international community to impose more stringent standards and demands on industries and governments to reduce carbon emissions and pollution levels. Technological advancements are making renewable energy sources more economically viable. Rapid economic and technological growth in the developed countries is requiring greater regional cooperation between developing countries to fulfill their energy and industrial plans to generate income producing opportunities. In Egypt this can be achieved through maximizing the economic utilization of generated energy, and to create a positive business environment to attract major investors to engage in mutually beneficial economic and social project. Over the past few years, the Egyptian energy sector has seen major leaps in terms of electric power generation, hydrocarbon discoveries, expansion of renewable energy generation capacity, and a solid strategy to transform Egypt into a regional energy hub. New legislation, initiatives, projects and plans are continuously introduced to ensure that this momentum does not decline and to meet all the increasing global environmental demands and requirements. In TWE we firmly believe that the future energy landscape will be completely transformed to accommodate the increasing, ever-changing challenges and demands. We also see that Egypt’s natural resources, geographic location and climate ideally positions the country to excel in this exciting global change. One major direction towards meeting international standards of carbon emissions is in the transportation sector, specifically by introducing electric vehicles on a large scale.
