Transform Trade India is a mission based social enterprise; wholly owned subsidiary of Transform Trade (earlier known as Traidcraft Exchange) UK, a pioneering Fair Trade promoting charity, with operations in India since 1995. Our mission is to reimagine business and trade through the eyes of small and vulnerable producers & workers to realize fair distribution of risk across global and local supply-chains through development and promotion of profitable, sustainable BUT ethical trade practices. Our unique structure as a company and charity enables us to address developmental and commercial needs of small producers; as well as provide advisory services to development initiatives. Our work in India is the largest outside of the UK and has revolved around some of the most complex and labour-intensive value chains of Tea, Textile, Small scale Agriculture, Crafts, Cotton and Jute touching about 150,000 households (650,000 individuals). Key strategic pillars of our work in India are, Environmental sustainability, Viable enterprises for smallholders, Womens' economic empowerment and Business & human rights.
