Translate for Her (TheM)

Translate for Her (TheM) is a non-profit organisation established in 2014 jointly by a group of Hong Kong Chinese and Pakistani. Our goal is to establish a mutual support platform among Chinese and non-Chinese ethnic minority females in Hong Kong through the facilitation of cross-cultural collaboration. Having targeted the issue of information inequality prevalent among ethnic minority females, TheM has engaged with around 300 translation service users and 300 volunteers of different ethnicities. TheM has also actively organised activities of cross-cultural exchanges, including a language partnership program and social gatherings of different cultural themes, as well as research and advocacy for better information access and racial equality in Hong Kong. In June 2022, TheM is launching a mutual help mini project program. The program supports ethnic minority women to initiate projects that address their very own needs and utilise their potentials and resources.
