Nationwide Fishing Trap, Removal, Assessment, and Prevention (TRAP) Program

The Nationwide TRAP Program funds the removal of derelict fishing gear from coastal waters. Lost, abandoned, or discarded fishing traps continue to capture target and non-target species, resulting in increased mortality, habitat damage, and reduced fishery harvest.
