Trauma Audit Research Network (TARN)

Every year across England and Wales, 10,000 people die after injury. It is the leading cause of death among children and young adults of 44 years and under. In addition, there are many thousands who are left severely disabled for life. The Trauma Audit and Research Network has been working with NHS Trusts across England and Wales for over 20 years to improve emergency healthcare systems by collating and analysing trauma patient care data within each trust. The registry holds more than 400,000 injured patients and provides a statistical base to support clinical audit. TARN holds a rich source of information to support trauma service improvement and with their foundation in research and a highly skilled team, they ensure that accurate and relevant information is provided to help Doctors, Nurses and Managers improve their services.
