Teachers Registration Board Tasmania

The Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania (TRB) is responsible for registering teachers for all Tasmanian schools, colleges and TasTAFE. It is an independent statutory authority established under the Teachers Registration Act 2000. The Board operates along similar lines to teacher regulatory bodies in other States and Territories; its main function is to register teachers working in Tasmanian Government, Catholic and Independent schools. Like other professions occupying positions of trust and responsibility, teachers are required to be registered in order to practice their profession. All practicing Tasmanian school teachers must be registered by the Board.
