Launched in May 2009, Tree Capital advises long/short equity hedge funds focused on Latin America. The investment process involves both a top-down macro-overlay, supported by intense, fundamental, bottom-up industry and company research. We draw heavily on the team’s more than 40 years of combined in-depth experience with companies and management in the region and deep local contacts. With its pan-regional approach, Tree Capital’s investable universe includes more stocks in Latin America (approximately 400) than the classic global emerging markets fund. An intense focus on risk management is a critical element of Tree Capital’s approach to investing.
