THE RAW EPIDEMIC
Constant exposure to trauma, life-threatening situations, and the physical strain of working long hours on little to no sleep can negatively impact overall mental health, increasing the vulnerability and risk of substance abuse and addiction among commandos and first responders. Further, various stigmas like self-stigma, anticipated stigma, and public stigma plays a significant factor as to why these elite individuals don’t seek help. Just like it takes a team to neutralize a terrorist cell, secure a target, or eliminate a life-compromising fire, it takes a team to wage war on addiction and neutralize these stigmas.
