About Trinity University Student Managed Fund

Trinity University's Student Managed Fund (SMF) Program is in its 25th year of portfolio management. Students in SMF actively manage equity positions with a portfolio value in excess of $14 million. The fund is one of the largest student-run investment funds in the United States. The Student Managed Fund gives Trinity students the opportunity to manage real money in financial markets, bridging the gap between financial theory and real-world application. The purpose of the fund is to enrich the education of business students through a “hands-on” approach and to beat market performance as measured by Standard and Poor’s 500 Index.
