Trivalve is a single-piece backflow preventer designed for use especially in sanitary clamp fittings, such as Tri Clamp. The unique design combines a normal Tri Clamp sealing gasket and a non-return design element, allowing the end user to easily swap out a normal Tri Clamp sealing gasket and install a Trivalve wherever it’s required. Trivalve offers benefits to the end user as a low-cost, space-saving and easy-to-install option for backflow prevention in their equipment.
Trivalves are available in two food grade, magnetic elastomers; silicone and EPDM. The valves are available in three sizes (BS4825-3 / ASME BPE); 1-inch, 1.5-inch and 2-inch. In addition to the material and size options, Trivalves are available in different hardness values (40A, 60A, and 80A Shore). The range of hardnesses allows the end user to select the valve characteristics that are best suited to their process. A soft valve offers the lowest pressure drop in the flow direction and a hard valve offers the greatest resistance to pressure in the reverse flow direction.
Although new to market, Trivalves have already found use in food and non-food depositing equipment as a finger-safe option below the feed hopper. Due to the absence of a spring in Trivalve’s design, they have also found use as replacements for conventional non-return valves where check valve chatter has led to premature wear and failure.
Trivalve’s design can also be customised to fit other common process industry fittings, e.g. DIN, and other materials, e.g. FKM, nitrile etc, are available for custom manufacture, on request.
