TRIWEA is a co-creative and collaborative social enterprise dedicated to preserving the indigenous
weaving tradition of the Northeast, particularly focusing on the Garo, Hajong, Koch, and Rabha
Tribes in Meghalaya, situated in the sub-Himalayan region. The tribal weaves showcase unique
motifs and patterns inspired by nature, with each tribe contributing to the rich tapestry of local
artistry. Our mission is to empower women weavers by valuing and validating their traditional skills.
At the core of TRIWEA, is a passion to nurture a co-creative and collaborative platform involving
skilled weavers, spinners, artisans, designers and other stakeholders within the slow fashion
industry. The objective is to create exclusive eco-conscious craft products that not only represent
heritage and craftsmanship but also provide sustainable livelihood options for women in Meghalaya.
From exquisitely woven shawls to elegant stoles, cozy mufflers, and enchanting materials, each
