Trossachs Search & Rescue

Some of the many services we provide to the local community are listed below: USAR Dog Teams Fully trained Urban Search & Rescue dog teams that assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service when attending collapsed buildings to search for survivors and victims; the police, to search for murder victims; and by HM Coastguard, in searches for missing persons over rocky coastal terrain and other difficult environments. Community First Responders We have been a Co-Responder unit for the Scottish Ambulance Service since 2008, meaning that we attend emergency calls prior to the arrival of an emergency ambulance in order to provide lifesaving treatment, stabilise patients and promote recovery. Our fleet of vehicles are fully equipped with a defribillator, oxygen therapy unit etc. and this means we can also provide NHS Forth Valley and NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde with specialist 4x4 transport for medical teams in periods of severe weather such as snow and flooding, enabling them to attend priority and emergency incidents. Public Access Defibrillators Since launching this initiative to place Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) across the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and surrounding areas in 2013 we now have 150 PADs in place – each of which we check and maintain monthly. Our Defib Locator App pinpoints the location of all PAD units that we manage and can be downloaded at https://www.trossachsdefibrillator.co.uk/ Integral to the success of this project is the free community CPR training we provide to the general public, community organisations and businesses in the area. TECS Responder In 2019 we began supporting Clackmannanshire & Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership's TEC (Technology Enabled Care) Service.
