TROWIS GmbH, located in Chemnitz, is an innovative rope manufacturer specialized in high-performance fibre ropes for conveying applications. Among other things, the company develops and produces elevator and crane ropes that are approx. 80% lighter than classic steel wire ropes while ensuring maximum operational safety and service life. After 12 years of rope research and a two and a half year EXIST research transfer, TROWIS was founded in June 2019 and currently employs 6 people. TROWIS covers the entire production chain in the company, from twisting, rewinding, braiding to heat setting and plastic sheathing of textile ropes. Additionally, TROWIS has an extensive testing laboratory with cycle bending over sheave test machines, yarn abrasion tests and a multi-layer winding test stand in order to be able to optimally test and validate the ropes. Besides high-tech fibre ropes, TROWIS produces simple winch ropes, lifting tackle such as rope loops and sling ropes, offers contract twisting as well as contract sheathing and is a reliable partner for individual projects.
