True Outerwear is currently in creative hibernation. True was a boutique performance outerwear brand based in New Zealand, specialised in high quality down insulation apparel. Founded by designer Merle Schubert in 2003, True specialised in down insulated apparel for the outdoor and lifestyle market. True was founded on early concepts of sustainable apparel design, exploring new business models such as a 'production on demand' and offered a unique custom-made collection of down Jackets and Coats. True products were made with the highest quality, ethically sourced materials. Each True garment was handcrafted in New Zealand by highly skilled an experienced sewers, cutters and fillers. The designs are timeless, simple, refined and built to last. As of spring 2018 True has gone into hibernation for an indefinite period and is no longer producing products.
