Too many children and families have inequitable access to effective trauma-focused care. At TRUE Center, we want to change that. Our mission is to increase access to trauma-focused, evidence-based care and prevention services for DC-area children and families. We aim to increase access to treatment for children experiencing traumatic stress and prevention services to build resilience in children most at risk. We also provide training and information for families, professionals, and other concerned community members on issues related to trauma and its effects, ways to can support children in the aftermath of a traumatic event, and prevention strategies.
