Even with the rise of electronic documents, paper is still largely used to exchange information. For example, diplomas, official documents, civic information, medical records, purchase orders, and many other security documents are still delivered on plain paper. Document forgery is then easy to perform on such media with the advent of image editing tools and affordable high-quality printers. Document forgery can yield to identity or financial theft, misrepresentation, and even death.
We propose a solution to authenticate paper documents simply by scanning those using a standard smart phone or scanner and detect modifications.
