In 2009, our CEO, Dr. Stephen Oh PhD founded a company in Korea called eWBM. He had a vision to create a new market with innovative technologies for securing the world with hardware based security solutions. Dr. Oh and his team of engineers developed their own custom security MCU (processor chip) for use in FIDO security keys and IoT products. It was only after he developed his own biometric security key that he realized the desperate need for these products in a world that was moving online at an incredible pace, matched only by cyber criminals ability to hack account passwords and gain access to organizations precious data via account takeovers, man in the middle attacks, and “phishing”. Dr. Oh quickly realized that with the broadly distributed focus of eWBM, he would need to spin off the security key team from eWBM into a new company, with a team of executives solely focused on bringing advanced FIDO2 security solutions to the world. TrustKey Solutions was born!
