TSARES Uppsala

TSARES or The Student Association of Russian and Eurasian Studies is a student association at the Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies (IRES) at Uppsala University. Currently the association consists of students of the master program in Russian and Eurasian Studies at IRES. Our aim is to promote the understanding of the region through formal academic program items, informal gatherings and conferences with student participation. TSARES addresses students from all backgrounds and disciplines studying at Uppsala University. We want to offer spaces for both exploration and discussion of one of the world's least understood regions. TSARES is a platform for students to engage Russia and Eurasia through open dialogue. We encourage our members to actively participate and hope to contribute to personal and professional development. Because of the multi-disciplinary nature of our members, we hope to tailor our regional interest with all faculties, whether they be the humanities, arts, social sciences, or natural sciences. The student association is English-speaking and all events are held in English!
