Technical Services Group (TSG) was established in June1985 based on an agreement between Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) with the broader objective to enhance WAPDA's capabilities for maintaining the Grid System Operation (GSO) system. The joint project of WAPDA-CIDA was accomplished in 1990; thereafter, TSG undertook independent functioning.
In order to pursue to its envisioned objectives, TSG has been conducting training courses and provide technical services/consultancy services mainly to technical staff of GSO/asset management component of NTDCL as well as for GENCOs, WAPDA, DISCOs and private sector. Typically, training courses are offered at TSG in the following disciplines:
a. Grid Station Operation & Maintenance; b. Protection & Instrumentation (P&I); c. Dead line Maintenance; d. Live Line Maintenance; and e. Promotion Criteria Courses/Refresher Courses
Since 2017, TSG is working under General Manager, TSG to facilitate technical as well as capacity building support to GSO/Asset Management and Project Delivery departments of NTDCL, WAPDA, DISCOs and GENCOs, etc.
