Tsunami Lafayette welcomes you to fine sushi, sashimi, sake, and Louisiana hospitality. Tsunami Sushi is the brainchild of original owners Leah Simon, Michele Ezell and Sean Ezell. They spent two years designing and developing Tsunami Lafayette before its opening downtown in January 2000. The restaurant was an immediate hit, earning a 2000 Cornerstone Award for design and development and being named Best New Restaurant and Best Sushi Bar by Times of Acadiana in 2001. A Baton Rouge location was opened in 2005 atop the Shaw Center of the Arts building and Tsunami New Orleans to follow in 2017. Tsunami continues to be recognized in both culinary and people's choice awards. In 2014, Owners, Michele and Sean, invited longtime co-workers Toon Nguyen and Frederick Nonato to become managing partners of Tsunami Sushi.
