Trinidad and Tobago Youth Convention

Established on May 31st 2016, the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Convention (TTYC) aims to highlight the achievements and advances of young persons, while also acknowledging the many issues and challenges still affecting youth today. It also presents an opportunity to capture youth experiences, which can be useful in shaping youth policies that reflect the realities of young persons living in T&T. This is especially important at a time when the country must depend on every citizen to rebuild the economy, reduce criminal activity and increase production and diversification activities. The TTYC can be the civil society focal point for youth development and matter thereof. The TTYC will also seek to: • Inspire youths to take up prominent positions in national development • Create a network of youth leaders and mentors • Empower youth to carry out meaningful work in schools and communities • Provide a launch pad for other youth related events • Promote youth services and products • Promote youth-led initiatives
