In February 2022, the Māori Spectrum Working Group (MSWG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government to form a Māori Spectrum Entity (MSE) through legislation. The Interim Māori Spectrum Commission is now named Tū Ātea. IMSC is a Trust created by the Māori Spectrum Working Group (MSWG) to establish the Māori Spectrum Entity (MSE), and hold management spectrum rights. The IMSC supports the work of the MSWG in establishing the workplan to be taken over by the MSE, once it is in place. The IMSC priorities include: *Assisting the MSWG to progress its arrangements with the Crown *Having influence and a voice on behalf of Māori in the telecommunications sector *Growing skills and capability of Māori in the telecommunications sector *Building sustainability and opportunity through commercial activity *Contributing to the economic growth and wellbeing of Māori and the country
