Tular Nalar

Tular Nalar is an online learning portal that aims to promote critical thinking and digital literacy among the Indonesian public. It was launched in October 2020 by MAFINDO, MAARIF Institute, and Love Frankie, with the support of Google.org. Tular Nalar offers a curriculum of interactive learning materials that cover various topics, such as the ethics of sharing messages on social media, how to deal with hoaxes, and how to respond to issues that could sow division and intolerance. The curriculum is based on eight competencies that are divided into three levels: Tahu (Know), Tanggap (Responsive), and Tangguh (Resilient). Tular Nalar can be accessed by anyone: students, teachers, lecturers, or even the general public. The portal provides two menus: Belajar Online (Online Learning) and Untuk Pengajar (For Teachers). Belajar Online allows users to learn critical thinking and digital literacy in a practical way. Untuk Pengajar provides a complete curriculum for each level of Tular Nalar for teachers to use in their classroom activities or online learning sessions. Tular Nalar has also conducted a series of offline training sessions for different segments of the population, such as first-time voters and senior citizens. The training sessions aim to empower these groups to become more aware and responsible as digital citizens, as well as to prevent them from falling victim to hoaxes and hate speech. The training sessions are held in various locations across Indonesia. Since its inception, Tular Nalar has reached more than 100,000 users online and more than 10,000 participants offline. It has also received positive feedback from various stakeholders, such as the Ministry of Education and Culture, the National Commission on Human Rights, the National Disaster Management Agency, the National Cyber Agency, and various media outlets.
