Tunis Afrique Press News Agency (TAP) founded on the First of January 1961. Its Head Office is in 7, Avenue Slimane Ben Slimane 2092, El Manar II. It is the principal Tunisian News source of information for other Media outlets operating in Tunisia . This National Agency is employing a staff of 309 (2012) agents including journalists ,photographers, researchers and 220 journalists, and a network of correspondents covering all regions of the country. TAP is operating 24 Hours a day in Arabic, French and English. It reports on National and International news bulletins. For international news, the agency uses AFP, Reuters, and the Associated Press, as well as about forty national agencies. Globally, the agency produces an average of 250 dispatches each day. The agency also has a photography department, which produces around 20 images daily, and has an archive of more than 500,000 photos dating back to the 1930s.
