Turkey Tribunal

Turkey Tribunal is an independent and impartial International ‘’People’s Court’’, which will judge human rights violation-related crimes in recent years in Turkey. The initiative is coordinated together with the Steering Committee by Prof. Dr. Johan Vande Lanotte, professor at the University of Ghent, who at the end of the 1980s was one of the first in Flanders region in Belgium to give a fully-fledged Human Rights course. He is also Senior Legal Counsel at the office of Van Steenbrugge Advocaten. Steering Committee members: • Em. Prof. Dr. Marc baron Bossuyt: Judge and President of the Constitutional Court of Belgium (1997-2014) • Jan De Bock: Former Ambassador of Belgium to the United Nations and the European Union • Prof. Dr. Rik Van de Walle: Rector of Ghent University (2007 – present) • Mr. Christine Mussche: Deputy judge at the Court of First Instance in Ghent • Prof. Dr. Caroline Pauwels – Belgium: Rector of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (2016 – present)
