Turquoise Cottage was a dream that transitioned in to reality in 1997. With a vision to provide fine dining at affordable prices Turquoise Cottage - TC original 1997 is now known through Delhi & NCR today. Turquoise Cottage - TC original 1997 was the first to have an open live kitchen in Delhi. It began at a small place located in Adchini, New Delhi where the first Turquoise Cottage was opened. Then followed the next Turquoise Cottage in Gurgaon. TC an offshoot of Turquoise Cottage - TC original 1997 began later introducing ROCK music for the 1st time ever in Delhi/NCR. The brain child of Mr. Sanjay Khullar, the idea behind the name was to serve fine oriental flavors. A brief history comes from the first Millennium AD that saw a big increase in the popularity of Turquoise with the Chinese who were captivated by the blue stone. Along with a few mines in their empire, they imported most of their stones from Tibetans and Mongols in the orient. The cuisine only made sense in this context, as the adjectival term oriental has been used by the West to mean cultures, peoples, countries, and goods from the Orient. "Oriental" generally means "eastern," and is a traditional designation for anything belonging to the Orient or "East" (for Asia), and especially of its Eastern culture. In its tenure, Turquoise Cottage - TC original 1997 shifted locations due to various factors. Initially from Adchini to Basant Lok, New Delhi and finally it has found its home in DLF Place Mall, Saket, New Delhi and Gurgaon. Today after over 17 years since the beginning of Turquoise Cottage - TC original 1997 the brand has become more of a cult for all culinary connoisseurs and ROCK lovers.
