Drug discovery demands reliable, ultrasensitive and fast techniques to test small drug volumes. The efficacy and biotoxicity of drugs is heavily affected by their chiral configuration. In turn, pharmaceutical companies routinely encounter a looking-glass world of mirror-image molecules – enantiomers - where chiral sensing of small drug volumes plays a pivotal role for drug discovery and nanomedicine.
TwistedNano addresses this need with a new generation of integrated nanophotonic devices enabling the characterization of small quantities of chiral drugs with volumes of a few nanolitres through light, revolutionizing at source the technological toolbox for drug discovery and nanomedicine.
