A spin-off from the Institut d'Optique Graduate School, Université Paris-Saclay, UNVEIL is a deeptech start-up that aims at facilitating the development and production of biologics (drugs derived from living organisms, such as messenger RNA vaccines, as opposed to chemical ones). These biologics (gene therapy, RNA vaccines, etc.) are transported to the target site in the human body by nanometric vectors (viruses or lipid nanoparticles).
R&D and production of these biomedicines is hampered by the lack of effective technology to measure vector loading.
UNVEIL has developped an optical, label-free instrument capable of quickly and easily measuring nanovector loading in solution, as well as their size and concentration.
