SESAR has a vision for U-space to enable complex drone operations with a high degree of automation.
As part of the SESAR U-Space projects under the Horizon2020 initiative, CLASS aims to make drone traffic a reality by researching and resolving issues regarding the safe, scalable and ecological use of drones.
CLASS is a game changes, combining ground-based technologies with multiple trackers to give authority the tools to discern which drones are flying and whether they are supposed to be there.
CLASS specifically explores the ability to monitor and separate all drone traffic in an area with the ability to provide real-time situation awareness for drone air traffic management. CLASS merge existing technologies to build core functions of U-Space.
