A non-profit start up. We have developed a socially innovative model to train and coach adolescents, young adults and first-time employees in so-called 21st century skills: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. The acquisition of these top skills is proved to be the way to equip the youth for future employment in jobs that may not exist just yet.
We want to reach out to all young people, including those facing extreme hardship: refugees, survivors of human trafficking, those managing health-related challenges. Through our activities, we will encourage them to re-build their link to the society, and not simply survive but thrive in the life that they choose.
We developed a set of interdisciplinary trainings, based on an all-inclusive concept: one gets to know and manage her/himself and their social relationships (through the training in Emotional Intelligence); one learns to be creative and relate to their immediate social environment (through a course in improvisational theater); and one learns to analyse, make informed choices, convince others, and lead (through a communication/debate training).
With us, today’s young people don’t have to wait for tomorrow, when they get a job, to acquire these soft skills through at-work training, coaching and team-buildings. They will start to build these skills earlier – in their formative years. This is, in fact, the right time when they must acquire them to internalise them easier, and deeper.
