USBSA represents 7 beet sugar processing companies which produce refined white sugar from sugarbeets. There are 22 factories located in 9 states, which are cooperatively owned by sugarbeet farmers in 11 states. The Association represents the interests of these sugar companies before Congress and the government agencies. The primary focus of the organization is the sugar program in the 2008 Farm Bill, in addition to international trade issues and climate change legislation.
