UAE Modern

UAE Modern, founded by Massimo Imparato and Monica Mazzolani, is a cultural platform dedicated to the exploration, documentation, and critical reflection on the UAE’s tangible and intangible heritage. Positioned at the intersection of tradition and innovation, UAE Modern investigates how the nation’s architectural, cultural, and social fabric evolves in response to emerging economic, technological, environmental, and societal challenges. Acting as a multidisciplinary hub, UAE Modern brings together designers, scholars, professionals, and institutional partners committed to sustainability and the transition to a Circular Economy. It supports research and design initiatives aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Agenda, fostering dialogue and collaboration across sectors. As an active contributor to the UAE’s cultural landscape, UAE Modern has been a partner of the official program of Dubai Design Week and a curator of international conferences and events, including Nature-Based Generations, People Planet Profits, and Modern Architecture Heritage. With a growing community of over 1,500 members, UAE Modern launches open calls and curates initiatives that promote sustainability-driven design and heritage-based innovation, both regionally and globally.
