UBC Centre for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL)

At the UBC Centre for Community Engaged Learning, we catalyze, design, and implement opportunities for students to apply their knowledge and skills to help address the most critical social and environmental issues. This is done by collaborating with diverse university and community partners and stakeholders. Community engaged learning (CEL) is a form of experiential education to apply, engage, and further your education in the community. The Centre’s programming and initiatives align and advance a learning journey for students that is progressive; moving a student from the early stage of awareness and understanding, through to co-creation, innovation, and real-time action on social and environmental challenges affecting communities both locally and globally.
