We are a CAATE accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training Education program. We are housed in the School of Public Health and Health Professions and are part of the Academic Health Center at the University at Buffalo. We are innovating athletic training education by our curriculum design, clinical education opportunities and more. We have the resources of a large, research university and an academic health center.
Our program puts enormous emphasis on interprofessional education and collaboration. We work extremely closely with our medical school and physicians from UBMD Orthopedics and UBMD Emergency Medicine. Our students have a chance to learn from experts in the classroom and at clinical education.
We offer 72 weeks of clinical education, with over 20 weeks of immersive clinical education. Our program takes advantage of the great opportunities of the Buffalo metro region with clinical sites ranging from the Buffalo Bills and our own UB Bulls Division 1 athletics to private high schools and everything in between. The program is also fortunate to provide healthcare at many high level events including the Buffalo Marathon, the NHL Referees Combine and the NHL Players Combine.
Our program focuses on student centered learning and our community here in Buffalo. There is no better place to train for a career as an athletic trainer than here in Buffalo. We have the resources of a major research university and academic health center and the clinical education opportunities that are second too none.
