About uCAIR
Join us on the progress towards better medical diagnostics and follow our channel! uCAIR is a European collaborative research project aiming at providing a super-fast and scalable laser system that will enable rapid penetration of Raman-based diagnostic system into the endoscopy market. It is funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe. Current in vivo diagnostic imaging techniques are mostly morphological and invasive, as they often require contrast agents to enhance visibility of target pathology. A real-time, non-invasive imaging solution, detecting molecular level disruption of the biological cells’ life cycle, would dramatically change healthcare. uCAIR, unifying 11 partners, will explore a wide-range of novel photonic technologies to enable transfer of Raman imaging into clinical practice. Coordinated by the University of Limerick, Ireland, uCAIR brings together partners from seven European countries: Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland and Turkey. The project will run from June 1st, 2024 until June 30th, 2027 receiving about EUR 5 million funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Framework Programme. This channel is maintained by VDI/VDE-IT on behalf of the uCAIR consortium.
