California is home to gorgeous mountain ranges, coastal beaches, forests and deserts–yet there is constant lack of diversity and unequal access to nature/outdoor activities. Outsiders is a new outdoor club created by and for people of color. Noticing the lack of diversity and inclusion in outdoor activity spaces on campus, this club was created to break down racial barriers and enrich local experiences for POC folks looking to spend more time in nature. Outsiders encourages students of color to partake in exciting trips, coordinate passions and hobbies, and connect with others that want to explore our gorgeous state and the outdoors. We coordinate trips that explore hiking, backpacking, climbing, kayaking or paddle boarding, and much more.
