Uday Electric started when our founder was in 11th grade and mentoring students in the slums of Bichpuri. He noticed that constant power cuts made it hard for his mentees to study or even manage daily tasks. For these kids, who grew up where electricity was a luxury, a day without power shortages seemed impossible. Uday decided to tackle this issue, not just for Bichpuri but for all rural areas.
After going through 24 different prototypes, Uday developed and patented his dynamic-lumen technology. The name “Uday” means sunrise in Hindi, representing the hope and light we aim to bring to rural communities.
At Uday Electric, we partner with NGOs like AASRA Foundation and help other organizations with their CSR efforts. These partnerships have allowed us to light up over 7,500 homes in 8 states, making a real difference in many communities.
We also work with local retailers across rural India to distribute our products, making sure they’re accessible to everyone who needs them. This approach helps us reach more people and keeps our mission of providing reliable and sustainable lighting solutions alive.
