The Udayan Shalini Fellowship, formed by merging the Sanskrit words "Udayan" and "Shalini" signifying eternal sunrise and a dignified woman respectively, commenced in 2002 with just 72 girls. Since then, the program has undergone significant growth. As of September 2023, it encompasses 34 chapters spanning 13 states. The primary objective is to ensure that every ambitious girl has access to educational opportunities, irrespective of financial constraints. Over the years, the fellowship has welcomed over 12,737 girls into its fold. Notably, more than 4500 girls have successfully graduated across various disciplines and secured esteemed positions in corporate, educational institutions, and NGOs. The remaining participants, referred to as Shalinis (Dignified Women), are pursuing diverse fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretaryship, Vocational Training, Nursing, and Computer Science, among others.
