The Unmanned Aerial Systems Development Center (UDC) is a student-led research lab within the Aerospace Engineering Department at Cairo University. Since our founding in 2008, we have been committed to the design, development, and advancement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for a wide range of missions.
Our team is structured into Vehicle Design, Control & Simulation, Mechanical Design & Manufacturing, Piloting, Media, PR, and Fundraising divisions. This multidisciplinary approach allows members to gain hands-on experience and apply their engineering expertise to innovative projects.
We actively participate in local and international competitions and serve as the official student branch of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) at Cairo University. Additionally, we organize the annual Design, Build, and Fly (DBF) local competition, providing students with a platform to apply their knowledge in practical UAV design and mission challenges
