The Überwachungsgemeinschaft Gleisbau e.V. (ÜGG) was founded in March 1993 at the initiative of the construction industry, with support from the Deutsche Bundesbahn and Deutsche Reichsbahn.
It is supported by more than 100 member companies, including almost all renowned track construction companies, a large proportion of security firms, as well as an increasing number of logisticians, rail-affiliated service providers, planning and engineering offices. The statutory objective of the ÜGG is to monitor the quality of professional services in track construction so that new construction, renovation, expansion, and maintenance work is planned and executed according to recognized technical standards, with quality, safety, and adherence to deadlines.
Companies bearing the Überwachungszeichen meet all industry-specific requirements of a professional track construction company and have the right to use the surveillance mark. They are subject to external monitoring by the ÜGG. The Überwachungszeichen – the right track for enhanced quality.
