UFRJ COPRI is a student chapter of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, linked to the Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (COPRI), from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Our missions are:
• To serve the advancement of knowledge, education, development and practice of coastal, oceanographic, civil, water, environmental, and related disciplines applied to coastal zones, oceans, ports and rivers;
• To serve its members and society through the union of disciplines dealing with coasts, oceans, ports and rivers;
• To promote activities of interest to society and the scientific community;
• To disclose the importance and scope of COPRI's areas of interest;
• To serve as representative of its members to the Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering Area (AECO) - Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Engineering Research (COPPE) of UFRJ and before the related engineering community.
