Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL), is a National Non – Governmental Organization that was started ed in 1993 with the aim of enhancing the socio-economic transformation of disadvantaged young people aged 10 -24 years through evidence based interventions that: advocate; create linkages to services and information; and encourage social and livelihood skills development for self-reliance. UYDEL operates 5 youth-friendly drop-in centers. These centers offer a variety of vocational training programs, such as hairdressing, tailoring, electronics, catering, and more. UYDEL's programs address the needs of vulnerable youth involved in or affected by commercial sex work, child trafficking, substance abuse, and more. The organization uses a holistic approach, focusing on vocational skills training, community mobilization, psychosocial support, family tracing, and reintegration into society. UYDEL's interventions include socio-economic empowerment, community education, specialized training, and advocacy campaigns at local, national, and international levels. The organization is committed to respecting human rights, promoting transparency, and ensuring child protection, participation, and reintegration into healthy, self-sustaining lives.
