Universal Health and Development Foundation (UHDF)

UHDF is a women and youth-led community based organisation, focused on advocacy, research and the linking of underserved Ugandan communities to quality health and social services. The organization was founded in 2013 by a team of health and education professionals and expatriates originally from Butaleja District and other parts of Africa, determined to improve the health and well-being of people living in rural and hard-to-reach areas. UHDF utilises various programs to lead and involve local youths and community stakeholders in the creation of self-sustaining programs (such as community forums, school outreach, home visits, sports, medical camps, music, dance and drama, media engagement, and youth camps) with the goal of providing health education, economic empowerment and awareness of available services. OUR MISSION We envision communities empowered to live healthy and prosperous lives, free from preventable diseases and other health risks, and poverty. Our goal is to promote and improve the well-being of people in rural and hard-to-reach areas through advocacy, health education, creation of self-sufficiency, and linkage to quality health and social services with overall community participation and involvement. This includes tackling provide care and compassion to HIV/AIDS patients in various parts of Uganda. UHDF utilises our various platforms to further the prevention, care and treatment of HIV/AIDs and other communicable diseases. UHDF partners with various local and international organizations including World Vision, B360 (BizSolutions 360 Inc), PACE, FHI360, Uganda AIDS commission, UHDF, USAID, Ministry of Health among others.
