Civil Air Support

Civil Air Support (CAS), a UK based charity, is the largest charitable air support organisation in Europe. Our membership is growing and currently represents an extensive fleet of privately-owned aircraft that includes fixed-wing aeroplanes; (single and twin engine); helicopters; and gyrocopters. All of our crews are appropriately qualified, many coming from military, police or commercial aviation backgrounds, whilst the aircraft they use are specifically insured for CAS activity. CAS’s primary aim is to provide voluntary humanitarian air support to organisations or individuals who would not otherwise have access to it. We can help communities, organisations and even individuals in any number of ways and, because our members donate their time and aircraft free of charge we do not charge for our services. Examples of the kind of things we do include: • Aerial search activity • Aerial photography and survey work • Communications relay • Environmental monitoring • Event safety cover • Transport services, including wildlife, samples and other time critical deliveries We never compete with established airborne resources and only operate when the alternative is no air support at all, an all too common situation in the UK.
