UTTARAKHAND DEFENCE MANUFACTURERS AND SUPPLIERS ASSOCIATION (UKDMSA) 1. The Uttarakhand Defence Manufacturers and Suppliers Association (UKDMSA) is a not for profit association formed to help the Industry and Suppliers in Uttarakhand explore new markets, form Global alliances and be the advisory group to the government of Uttarakhand on policy issues on defense matters. UKDMSA plays an active role to be a facilitator, catalyst and knowledge center for the defense manufacturers and suppliers of Uttarakhand. UKDMSA will help Uttarakhand to achieve national and global status in defense manufacturing and supplies. 2. UKDMSA is mandated to work closely with the Armed Forces, Academia, Researchers, Innovators, Startups, and Governments at center and state to create and develop key Defence technologies/capabilities and facilitate the growth of Defence Industries in Uttarakhand. UKDMSA has the following objectives : • Forming Joint Ventures with Foreign Original equipment manufacturers(OEMs) and attract investments and promote Uttarakhand as a defense manufacturing hub • Attract investment in State from within Country • Increase intrastate vendor base for Defence Public Sector Units/ ORD factories • Harness Transfer of Technology by OEMs to increase skilled manpower in the State • Create Centre of Excellence at State Universities and industrial houses • Prepare Next Generation of Scientists in the State • Facilitating Setting up of Defence industrial areas cluster • To provide an opportunity to local manufacturers and suppliers to establish National and International linkages. (Joint ventures and MOUs) • To promote Defense Research and Development (R&D) in the state academic institutions by providing them a platform for the same. • To institutionalize interaction of local industry, State, and foreign OEMs. • To represent Uttarakhand in the industry forums like FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM, DEFEXPO etc.
