UK Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (UKNOS) was established in 2019 by Ophthalmologists & Neurologists working in Neuro-Ophthalmology across the UK.
It evolved from the UK Neuro-Ophthalmology Special Interest Group (UKNOSIG) which was the first Special Interest Group within the Association of British Neurologists (starting something of a trend). UKNOSIG was founded by Dr Gordon Plant in 2005 to meet the need for a national organisation committed to research and continuing professional development in Neuro-Ophthalmology.
In 2019 Dr Plant & colleagues from across the UK formed a committee and established UKNOS with a formal constitution and membership structure, and a yearly annual meeting.
