UKOPA (the United Kingdom Onshore Pipeline Operators’ Association) is the industry body behind more than 27,000km of essential pipeline infrastructure. The organisation exists to provide the recognised and authoritative view of UK pipeline operators on strategic issues relating to safety management, operations and integrity of onshore pipelines.
The network of pipelines operated by UKOPA’s members is used to transport gas, fuels and chemicals that are vital to the economy of the United Kingdom. The Association helps ensure the integrity of this pipeline infrastructure by seeking to effectively influence the development and implementation of pipeline-related legislation and standards for the mutual benefit of all stakeholders. It also promotes safety and best practice in the pipeline industry.
Established in 1996, UKOPA continues to bring operators together to help them stay up to date with the latest industry initiatives, technologies and good practices, while providing an expert industry voice to facilitate closer collaboration between members as well as regulators and other key stakeholders.
